“Does it actually do all the work?”
No. And anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.
What it genuinely does well today
- Reads documents and pulls the information out of them
- Performs the same defined task the same way every time, without getting bored or distracted
- Answers a first question instantly, at any hour, in any language you need
- Assembles a report from information that already exists somewhere
What it is still poor at
- Judgement calls where the answer depends on context only a person holds
- Anything where being occasionally wrong is unacceptable and nobody is checking
- Repairing a process that was already broken before it was automated

How much is there to gain?

Your team types things a machine could type
The most common and the most expensive, because it is invisible. Nobody ever put it on a budget line.
Customers wait too long for a first answer
You rarely hear about this one. People do not complain that you were slow, they just go elsewhere.
You need more output, and hiring is not the answer
Either the headcount is not available, or the job you would be hiring for does not deserve a person.
The work does not stop when the office closes
Gulf businesses trade across time zones and weekends that do not line up. Your systems usually do not.
Part two
Are you ready, though?
Wanting it is not the same as being ready for it. These five decide whether a project succeeds or quietly dies in month three. Answer about the single heaviest task you ticked above.
Could you write this process down, step by step, without using the words "it depends"?
Why this matters
If it depends, a person is making a judgement somewhere. That is fine, but it has to be found and defined first. Automating an undefined judgement just makes the wrong answer arrive faster.

Not only on paper, and not only in somebody's head. It does not have to be tidy or in one system. It has to exist.
Is there one named person who owns the outcome?
Why this matters
Not who performs the task. Who is answerable when it goes wrong, and who can decide how it should work.
Do you know roughly what this costs you today, in hours or in dinars?
Why this matters
You do not need precision. You need a number you would be willing to defend in a meeting.
Could somebody approve a small paid pilot within this quarter?
